2027 Membership Renew

We invite you once again to renew your subscription to The London Underground Railway Society.

In view of the increase to the UK business franking postal charges imposed upon the Society and increases in other costs involved in running the Society and producing Underground News the subscription rates for 2027 will need to increase to £48 for UK based Members, £78 for European based Members and £94 for Members based in the Rest of the World.

For the first time, we are able to offer our Overseas Members a digital subscription. This will comprise an emailed link to a webpage for you to download a PDF copy of Underground News. For 2027 this rate will be £49.

The Society separates Membership by geographical region into United Kingdom Membership, Europe Membership and Rest of World Membership, due to the annual cost incurred in mailing Underground News to different parts of the world.

Royal Mail definitions of what constitutes Europe and Rest of World (combined World Zone 1, World Zone 2 and World Zone 3) can be found here.

Binders for your 2026 editions of Underground News can be ordered at the same time as your Membership renewal. The cost remains at £13 for UK Members and £19 for Europe and Rest of the World. These will be sent out around April 2027.

We are able to accept payment by direct transfer from PayPal and also use that company to process Credit/Debit Card payments.

We therefore strongly insist that you DO NOT send cash to renew your Membership, as we are unable to take responsibility for any loss in transit.

Please Note: Your Subscription MUST have been renewed prior to 11 December 2026 in order that you can receive the January 2027 issue of Underground News.

Any Subscriptions renewed after this date will NOT automatically receive missed editions; these must be requested in writing and will incur a surcharge of:

GBP (£3) per copy for UK Members
GBP (£4) for European Members
GBP (£5) for Members in the Rest of the World

to cover the cost of additional postage, packing and administration.

Please note that this is an amendment to the surcharge levied in previous years and more accurately reflects the costs involved.

Your subscription covers the costs involved in producing and distributing UNDERGROUND NEWS each month as well as providing a monthly meeting in Central London, for those that are able to attend.

Any additional items (such as visits or special Supplements to UNDERGROUND NEWS) are provided from Society funds.

We therefore welcome and appreciate any additional donations that Members feel able to make.

How to Renew or Donate:

Payment may be made in several ways.

The following methods are listed in order of preference:

2. You can renew or donate online. We use PayPal to process the transactions.

If you have a PayPal account you can use that to send money to membership@lurs.org.uk. Please add your Membership number (found on your Underground News address label) as a note where indicated in the transfer process or use the buttons below to open a transaction on the PayPal site.

Note that you do not need a PayPal account - you can pay directly using your Credit or Debit card. Simply use the appropriate box below, selecting the required option from the drop-down list and entering your Membership Number where indicated. Donations may be made separately to renewals.

3. Cheque made out in Pounds Sterling (GBP - £ ) drawn on a UK bank. Please make the cheque payable to: "The London Underground Railway Society".

4. British Postal Orders made payable to: "The London Underground Railway Society".

5. Cheques drawn in US dollars (USD - $) or Euros (€ ) on Foreign Banks but only if the equivalent of GBP10 (£ 10) is added to meet the additional costs incurred in handling these cheques.

We are unable to accept Travellers Cheques or cheques drawn in any other currency.
