2026 Membership Renew

We invite you once again to renew your subscription to The London Underground Railway Society.

In view of the increase to the UK business franking postal charges imposed upon the Society, the subscription rates for 2026 will need to increase to £46 for UK based Members, £74 for European based Members and £88 for Members based in the Rest of the World.

The Society separates Membership by geographical region into United Kingdom Membership, Europe Membership and Rest of World Membership, due to the annual cost incurred in mailing Underground News to different parts of the world.

The label on the envelope containing Underground News has a code of airEU1, airEU2 or airEU3 for European Membership and either air1, air2 or air3 Rest of World Membership on the top line.

Binders for your 2025 editions of Underground News can be ordered at the same time as your Membership renewal. We are thankful that Modern Bookbinders, who have supplied our binders since 1988, were successfully acquired by new owners in early-2025 and were able to complete our 2024 binder order without delay. Unfortunately, again for the rise in overseas postage charges applied to stamps rate, the cost of these has had to increase to £19 for Europe and Rest of the World. However, the cost remains at £13 for UK Members. These will be sent out around April 2026.

We are able to accept payment by direct transfer from PayPal and also use that company to process Credit/Debit Card payments.

We therefore strongly insist that you DO NOT send cash to renew your Membership, as we are unable to take responsibility for any loss in transit.

Please Note: Your Subscription MUST have been renewed prior to 12 December 2025 in order that you can receive the January 2026 issue of Underground News.

Any Subscriptions renewed after this date will NOT automatically receive missed editions; these must be requested in writing and will incur a surcharge of:

GBP (£3) per copy for UK Members
GBP (£4) for European Members
GBP (£5) for Members in the Rest of the World

to cover the cost of additional postage, packing and administration.

Please note that this is an amendment to the surcharge levied in previous years and more accurately reflects the costs involved.

Your subscription covers the costs involved in producing and distributing UNDERGROUND NEWS each month as well as providing a monthly meeting in Central London, for those that are able to attend.

Any additional items (such as visits or special Supplements to UNDERGROUND NEWS) are provided from Society funds.

We therefore welcome and appreciate any additional donations that Members feel able to make.

How to Renew or Donate:

Payment may be made in several ways.

The following methods are listed in order of preference:

2. You can renew or donate online. We use PayPal to process the transactions.

If you have a PayPal account you can use that to send money to membership@lurs.org.uk. Please add your Membership number (found on your Underground News address label) as a note where indicated in the transfer process or use the buttons below to open a transaction on the PayPal site.

Note that you do not need a PayPal account - you can pay directly using your Credit or Debit card. Simply use the appropriate box below, selecting the required option from the drop-down list and entering your Membership Number where indicated. Donations may be made separately to renewals.

3. Cheque made out in Pounds Sterling (GBP - £ ) drawn on a UK bank. Please make the cheque payable to: "The London Underground Railway Society".

4. British Postal Orders made payable to: "The London Underground Railway Society".

5. Cheques drawn in US dollars (USD - $) or Euros (€ ) on Foreign Banks but only if the equivalent of GBP10 (£ 10.00) is added to meet the additional costs incurred in handling these cheques.
